ECOGEAR VX BLADES

PRODUCT REVIEW _ ECOGEAR VX BLADES

ECOGEAR VX40 COLOUR 428

INTRO

As Winter Slowly Creeps in there is no better presentation to use in a estuary system than a Blade! The on set of the colder months will effectively bring on colder water which will send the fish in a frenzy to find a thermoclyne. This can see the fishing in a estuary almost reduce to nothing over shallow water! Targeting fish in deeper water needs a specific presentation which can keep in contact with the bottom but provide a presentation which may attract the attention of nearby predators. The Ecogear VX Blades are such a lure which will account for almost any species within a estuary e.g. Bream to Jewfish. Please take the time to appreciate that these lures can be used over shallow water with quick hops which are sure to get the predators over the flats crawling all over them! :)

"RIGGED WITH QUALITY TERMINAL TACKLE.....THE VX RANGE IS READY TO CATCH FISH OUT OF THE BOX"

ECOGEAR VX COLOUR CHART

TACKLE

The principle behind fishing blades is to keep in contact with the bottom! The gentle lifts of the rod tip and subsequent flutters are suppose to mimic a fleeing/injured baitfish. The Ecogear VX Range of Blades look to accommodate to a variety of factors including depth, current and weather  by providing a range of superb colours and sizes. These lures are based around a finesse approach so a light modulus rod in the spectrum of a 1-3kg or 2-4 kg will suffice, complemented by a 1000 or 2500 reel will provide a nice balance overall. Sticking to the finesse approach a thin braided line or spinning fluro is essential as you want to feel any initial inquiry taps but most importantly you want to feel that the lure is working properly! Just remember guys these are guidelines which can be moulded around the sort of fishing you do!

"BUY WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD!"

RETRIEVAL

Every day brings diverse and varied conditions which you as a angler will have to adapt to. This means that prospecting and experimentation plays a big part in your overall success! In regards to the general retrieve of a blade it encompasses a slow lift and wind down.....in the process you are waiting for a bite! It is important to take into consideration that retrieval styles will vary so switching it up will  pay dividends. "Its all about cracking the pattern!" In regards to setting the hooks of a fish its as easy as lifting the rod tip up and striking! This will effectively penetrate the owner or decoy trebles and have you connected. It is also important to take into account that alot of the time the fish which may fall to a blade impersonation are lip hooked soooo take it slow! "you don't want pulled hooks half way through the fight". Reiterating the point that every day has a different bite....you guys as anglers alike need to adapt to what your targeted species is preferring!

"IF YOU FEEL THE SLIGHTEST TUG IN YOUR LINE.....EVEN A FLICK OF YOUR LINE.....STRIKE UP! BECAUSE A SOLID HOOKUP IN ESSENTIAL!"

ECOGEAR VX 40 COLOUR 401 DOING THE DAMAGE

     LOCATION.......LOCATION

These Lures effectively don't have a limit on the depth that they can cover! You can use them in less than a foot of water when it permits but you can go to extremes and fish them in over 50 foot of water. Again it is all about adapting to what the fish are doing at that specific time of the year and what specific presentation they will be likely to take! Prospecting will effectively account for alot of our time on the water as no single fish will be in the same location day after day :)

"PROSPECTING IS A KEY TO ANY LURE FISHERMAN'S SUCCESS"

CONCLUSION

In regards to the practice of lure fishing alot of the time patience is required! The System which you are fishing needs to be worked out by yourself as you want to rely on tides and other condition's which may fire specific spots up. The Ecogear VX Range of Blades retail at approx $20 in most tackle store but remain assured that you are putting your money towards a lure which will produce the goods! Lure fishing is a must try for any avid fisherman as it not only leaves you with a form of prospecting alot more ground by it allows you to remain active throughout the whole session. Sooooooooo.........get out there guys and give it a go! Be sure to grab a couple VX Blades the next time your in at your local tackle store :) Cheers
